Welcome Riders!
DarKest Dreams Ranch is holding the second Edition of the Halloween Lightshow Three Day Event and Afterhours Blacklight Liberty Show and Party!
The competitions as previously will be held at night and the horses are required to have glow paint on them and/or glow sticks on their tack and saddles or something along those lines. This is also the perfect event to enter your Disturbed Nightmares, Tronequines, Nordanners with glowing potions, glowing Hototos and any other horses which have their own way to glow in the dark. Riders are not required to wear glowing materials but they can if they so desire.
Music is a must to go with your Dressage, Show Jumping and Blacklight Liberty entries. It is not required for the Cross Country but you can have music if you like.

Cross Country Event:
The event will be held outside on DKD's cross country course. Cameras will follow every competitor for the audience and Judges so not a Glow-in -the-dark moment is missed. XD With the "help" of some residing Nightmares on DKD, the course will be decorated so that the competitors can see the jumps and obsticles via lights, and interactive glowing decorations. (Lets hope they don't get out of hand in their decorating.)
I was lazy so I just described the course and the different parts you can pick from to draw. You only need to pick one. I may paint some of them so you can get a good idea but we will just have to see what happens. ->
The DKD Halloween Lightshow Cross Country CourseAny horse that takes part in the Cross Country Course need to be steadfast and not spooky or you will be in for a rough ride.
Unfortunately, the DKD resident Disturbed Nightmares had a hay day designing the course. Not only will the jumps and obstacles be possibly booby trapped or test your stead's courage, and the country around the course will be full of scary sound effects; the Nightmares' versions of Halloween sound effects.
The DKD Staff will advise you to not allow the nightmares to waylay you or turn you from the course. Most of the obstacles and jumps are just for show, we think. Oh, and one more thing, RIDE FAST! XD
Fear's Jump – Despite his usually scary tactics of trapping ranch hands, his obstacle is fairly mild. He is a younger Nightmare and not very creative yet and limited by his two orbs. His jump is a large hoop braced with the jump height at four foot with the hoop having a ten foot diameter which is draped by his glow worms. So hope you aren't squeamish as they
HOW TO WIN
For the cross country course, you will need to write a story to go with your entry. You should include the responses of you and your horse to the jump/obstacle you choose and how you get through it. Also as Disturbed Nightmares are involved it will be a dangerous course from the jumps and obstacles as well as the them trying to prevent you from finishing the course. Entries will be judged on creativity, effort, and how eyecatching the lights are on you and your horse.
Dressage Event:
This event will be held in DKD's indoor Arena completely blacked out but for small ground lamps at each of the letter markers. Now the the dressage event is fairly freestyle but will require that you have your horse perform moves that will really make their lights flash about such as the Pirouette, Piaffe, and Half-Pass.
For best results in this division of light display, we suggest painting markings on the legs, keeping the mane and tail lose and placing glow strips of some kind in them along with on the bridle and reins.
HOW TO WIN
With the dressage course, your lights will be the deciding factor along with how you can really make them dance as you perform your dressage. Entries will ne judged on creativity, effort and the ligtshow that you give the judges.
Show Jumping Event:
For the Show Jumping, the event will be held in DKD's indoor arena. Just as in the dressage event, it will be held in total dark WITHOUT the lamps. But the poles on the jumps will be painted to glow in the dark so you and your horse will have no problem finding the jumps. They may look eerie like glowing bars floating in the air. XD
Horse should be decked out in the glow paint, sticks, and strips just like in the Dressage event so the Judges can track your progress.
HOW TO WIN
The best way to win in the show jumping is just to catch their attention and not knock any pole down.XD A good way to do this is just have the most dynamic view of your horse and rider and make your lights really flashy. Remember, the only lights will be coming from the glowing poles and the ligjts on you and your horse. This will be more easily judged but as with the others they will be judged on creativity, effort and the lightshow you give.

Afterhours Blacklight Liberty and Party
There will be three classes of Blacklight Liberty in the after hours once the competitions are done for each night.
As with the other events, music and glowing effects are vital for the Blacklight Liberty. This is meant to be a much more relaxed and fun event.
Each Liberty class will take part all three days of the Extravaganza.

Possible Hiatus End - Oct 6,2021
I have begun to feel a bit more like myself lately and am slowly wading back into art and ARPG stuff. I miss the community and my art and being creative. I've been dealing with alot the last year or so much like many others I would assume. First on my mental list is just remember stuff and get some ducks in a row. Thinking Horses and Shedus are in order. Fawnlings will mostly be ARPG or OC and not Western Isles for now. I'm guessing most would be passed on or really old at this point. Really going to just enjoy making original art pieces and for fun OC stories. Really hope to reconnect with peeps and stuff on here. Hope to hear from you soon.
Unintended Hiatus - Figuring Stuff Out
Hey there my fellow devs. Today is the 6th of February of 2021 and I figured it was time to check in with anyone who might still check in on me on here. So I went on a kinda unintended hiatus back at the start of maybe October and I'm not sure when I will be full back. I have some stuff in RL I'm trying to figure out and a lot is mental and physical baggage. There is just so much in my head that it's hard to do more than keeping my family taken care of and myself as a sad second. I feel like I haven't been caring for myself a lot lately and trying to slowly fix that at a snails pace as we trudge through this time amid the pandemic. I also want to learn and improve things in multiple areas of my life, my art being one of those. I hope to post again soon but I don't know if it will be anything ARPG related. I kinda feel like I need to just steer away from things I have just piled on myself to the extreme. This is supposed to be fun and enriching and I don't understand all that it's
A Little Update: 10/26/20
Hello all. So I haven't been able to keep up with things lately and anyone that I owe art or anything to I apologize to. I still aim to work on things and make animals breedable and take part in events as I can. Having two busy kids is keeping me pretty busy in RL so art getting done is a treat. lol I have alot of stuff planned that I want to get to and hope to hit a free creative period more often so I can move forward. If anyone has breeding slots from my animals, they are open just drop me a message that you are breeding so I can make not of it. I think the shedu breeding season is closed or closing soon and I was so hopeful to have my boys from the One Male and all the queens thing be able to give whoever took part some fun babies. Those that requested from my classic and asian males still have that breeding and I will offer another free breeding to another male cat or female excluding my Komainu cross females. I hope to be more active again soon but things can be pretty

May i ask why tracing isnt allowed? Takes just as much effort as someone who doesnt trace.
Plus i dont see why you would not allow it when theres not huge prizes to be won.
